RR thrashed RCB'S only possibilities of going to the final by overpowering them by 7 wickets. After successively losing the toss RR's Skipper Samson finally won the toss and elected to bowl first. Kohli was looking ferocious against RR when he hit Boult for a six towards the deep square leg but was soon dismissed by his most prominent weakness which is the ball outside the off-stump which was a short ball that Kohli misjudged and was caught by Samson behind.
But the fall of the wicket of Kohli was ineffectual against RCB as Patidar had his onslaught of runs and scored 58 off 42 and had a significant partnership with Du Plessis of 70 runs. Maxwell could have been the aggressor for RCB but was soon dismissed in the fine leg region by playing an unorthodox shot(his favourite).

Prasidh and McCoy proved to be very crucial for RR's bowling lineup as they rattled the RCB'S middle and lower order which comprised of dippers, yorkers and slower balls.
The carnage was yet to come as Buttler levelled the record of Kohli of hitting the most centuries in a single tournament (4) and RCB had virtually lost the match when neither Siraj nor Shahbaz were able to give a breakthrough.
